Starting a New Season

To greet the autumn equinox I sat in on a teaching by visiting Tibetan Monk Taklung Matul Rinpoche.

“Reality is illogical,” he said at the beginning of his talk.

“Appreciate the little things. Be adamant,” he said at the end.

I left smiling.

What Color is Today?

One of my sisters used to remind me that I might be more in harmony with Monday the if I wore a certain color that day. There’s many systems of thought regarding what color will maximize the energy of that day. Consulting Wikipedia I found this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_of_the_day. Maybe it will give you some ideas.
Sunday – Red
Monday – Yellow
Tuesday – Pink
Wednesday – Green
Thursday – Orange
Friday – Blue
Saturday – Purple

What’s the Pomodoro Technique?

Yesterday I got Mark McGuinness’s Creative Pathfinder Lesson 6: How to Handle a Creative Block (When You’re Supposed to be the Creative Pro). One suggestion he makes is using the Pomodoro Technique which was developed by Francesco Cirillo in 1992. The basic idea is that studies have shown we work best in short increments of time and with this technique you choose a task then set a timer for 25 minutes, after which you take a 5 minute break.
