Back when the iPhone 4S was “the thing” I went to a social gathering of some creative friends of mine in my neighborhood at that time in San Francisco.

At the end of the gathering the host asked each of us to share one tip about something we’ve discovered.

One person demonstrated the Aeolian Harp App on his iPhone.

As soon as I got home I bought the app for $1.99.

Now a decade later, Aeolian Harp is still available, and getting favorable reviews!

From their website:

“Make music while you draw. It was developed by Uwe Oestermeier available for iPhone or iPad.

User defined parameter and color schemes can be used to explore the manifoldness of the underlying particle system.

The compass can be used to locate the following instruments in the four directions of the winds: Balalaika, Celtic Harp, Guitar, Gamelan, Guzheng, Kalimba, Koto, Marimba, Orchestral Harp, and Sitar. Each of these instruments can be assigned to a compass direction with a double tap on a cardinal point.”

Fill your heart with your own art and music.

Day 16 – Heart Waves

Over a decade ago a book came out that I found very helpful in methods of communicating with others, Dr. Gary Chapman’s Five Languages of Love. Since 2007 his book has been on the New York Times Best Seller’s List.

Wow, what is it about this book that resonates with so many people?

Today’s heart is about riding the waves of life. Becoming a surfer. We all have to become surfers to some extent or another.

Figure out a method to help ride them, a guide for how to communicate in the different styles or “languages” of love.

Today’s heart is about riding the waves of love, weathering storms, to arrive on the shore again — maybe the same shore, but with fresh eyes. And some new vocabulary words.

Find out more about Chapman’s Five Languages approach is at his website: https://www.5lovelanguages.com/5-love-languages/

I wrote this poem after hearing poetry, powerful poetry . . . the kind that makes me feel like I can change my DNA.

Heart of a Woman

Many hearts many minds
There is no other time
Like this moment
That makes demands on
the Heart of a Woman

Smart softness
Mental toughness
Emotional intelligence
Resilience

Hearts bound by
Time and sound
Joy and hope
Queens of Cope

We women are
Champions of
Sense-Around

Who thinks hearts are corny?

Not me.

My favorite card making holiday used to be Valentine’s. Following closely by Christmas when each year I would send out a handmade series.

This was before Valentine’s Day became the second most popular card-sending day of the year right after Christmas.

It’s been awhile since I made cards with the passion I used to make them.

Doesn’t mean I couldn’t start that up again.

There’s something very special about handmade cards. . . they send a caring message by evidence of the time spent on preparation.

A throwback to olden days, when the world was a little less busy.

In this unusual time, I invite you, as well as me, to create some home made cards!
